Punchy Homemade Agave Sweetened Ginger Ale

Homemade Ginger Ale is the real deal. Packed with the energy of joint rulers Mars and the Sun, ginger has been traditionally used in folklore as a digestive aid, making it perfect for Virgo season. Cheers!

Ingredients

For the Ginger Syrup:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3/4 cup ginger root peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup blue agave syrup

For Ginger Ale:

  • 1/4 cup Ginger Syrup
  • 1 cup soda water
  • 3-4 cubes ice

Instructions

For the Ginger Syrup:

  • Boil water over medium-high heat.
  • Add diced ginger and boil 2 minutes.
  • After 2 minutes, cover pan and steep ginger in water for 20 minutes.
  • Once 20 minutes have passed, strain ginger out of water.
  • Add agave syrup and stir to dissolve.
  • Refrigerate for at 45 minutes - an hour before using.

For Ginger Ale:

  • Add 3-4 pieces of ice to a tall glass.
  • Add 1/4 homemade Ginger Syrup to glass.
  • Fill glass with a cup of soda water and stir to combine.
  • Enjoy!
