Happy full moon in Capricorn! The June Strawberry Moon is a balancing act between material productivity and taking it easy at home, so I’m celebrating at home with a yummy Strawberry, Basil and Brie sandwich. This is the first of two full moons in Capricorn. This one is at 1 degree Cancer. The second one will be July 21st at 29 degrees Cancer, so check your chart to see what aspects they will be making.
June is strawberry season. And I’m here for it. Fresh, ripe, juicy strawberries are little packets of wonderful. They are perfect as is or whipped up in some sugar and spooned over shortcake. The best way to get strawberries is to go out and pick them yourself, but if that’s not an option, the second best way is to get them at your local farm stand.
Picking and storing strawberries
You should pick berries that are bright red, plump and juicy looking. Be sure there is no sign of mold, or too many white or green areas as strawberries will not ripen any further once they have been picked. Store them in the refrigerator on top of a paper towel to absorb excess moisture. And always wash before using as there can be bugs clinging to the fruit that you can’t see.

Spiritual properties
Strawberries, with their bright-red hue and heart-like shape are said to be ruled by Venus, the goddess of love. So, it’s no wonder they’re related to roses. And love is generally what strawberries are said to attract. But there’s more to this berry than just some love spells.
If you’ve ever had a strawberry plant in your backyard, then you know that they are prolific procreators. They reproduce in two ways. First, they send out shoots, or runners, of baby plants that the mother plant nourishes until they can take hold of the dirt and root.
Second, they can reproduce and spread through their many seeds. Strawberries are covered in dozens of seeds which can germinate easily with just a bit of moisture and soil. So, if you plant one strawberry, pretty soon you’ll have many. Which is why they are a popular choice for use in setting intentions around fertility. But did you know they are also used to enhance luck and dedication? It’s true. Strawberries’ dedication to bringing along their child plants until they are strong enough to go it alone, has led them to be correlated with attracting dedication. But in this recipe, we’ve combined the berries with the money drawing herb basil to produce a dish to enhance money luck. Plus, it tastes good. So enjoy!
